Queen Mary (Certified)

Our second certified ghost photo is already here! Emails have been coming in droves! (Not really) But nevertheless, thanks to  Joe LaRocca, we have our secondhttp://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=82738764217592769 certified ghost encounter which has been voted Number 1 Ghost Photo in 2008 and continues to increase its popularity here in The Ghost District!

The Queen Mary has actually made it onto the Top 50 Most Haunted Places list several times

"While aboard the Queen Mary a few years back my Uncle George took this picture of what he thought was an ordinary vestibule. When he got home he printed out his pictures but wasn’t expecting to find what looks like a ghost walking down the hall. My Uncle is 78 and does not believe in ghosts, but this freaked him out. He doesn’t even like to talk about the incident. I was just watching a special on the 10 most haunted places and when the Queen Mary was listed I felt compelled to send in the picture.
Many emails have poured in to Hauntedamericaours.com since the original posting of the Queen Mary Ghost photo. All stating that they believe this to be the best Ghost Photo ever taken on the Queen Mary to date. Many have also voted this to be the best Number 1 Ghost Photo of the year for 2008." -Joe LaRocca

Author's Input:

The most compelling thing about this photo is the fact that there are lights on everywhere. This makes it impossible for this to simply be a person in a poorly lit room moving fast to make it blurry. Also, if you look very closely, the figure does not reflect in the side panels which seem to reflect everything else, including the doors. Also, you can see that the legs are very long, skinny, and disfigured. This clearly is humanoid shaped but could never be the body of a real human, it is also missing arms, or if they are present, they are very faint.

What do you think? Is this worthy of Ghost Photo of the Year?

The Alcatraz Ghost (Certified)

This photo was sent to me by Glenn Shelton. He believes he has captured a real Alcatraz Ghost on film. Shelton says he believes this proves that Alcatraz is the" Most Haunted Federal Prison" In the world.

In the late 1850s, the first inmates to occupy Alcatraz were military prisoners who were put to work building a new prison that later became known as "The Rock." The U.S. Army used the island until 1933, at which time the Federal Government decided to open a maximum-security, minimum-privilege penitentiary to deal with the most incorrigible inmates.
Alcatraz was designed to break rebellious prisoners by putting them in a structured, monotonous routine until their release. Prisoners were given four basic things - food, clothing, shelter and medical care. Receiving anything beyond that had to be earned. Famous criminals, such as Al Capone, George "Machine-Gun" Kelly, Alvin Karpis and Arthur "Doc" Barker, spent time in Alcatraz. Mobsters in other prisons often managed to manipulate special privileges from guards, but not at Alcatraz.

This photo is certified. This is the first certified ghost photo on The Ghost District blog. While we are aware of other very famous and certified ghost photos, we are not going to post them here unless they are submitted by the original owners. Also, we are looking mainly for new ghost photos submitted by regular people and paranormal investigators alike.

So, back to the photo! This picture is one of the most exciting because it is a full length shadow figure, completely taking up the frame. Some skeptics believe this to be a camera defect, however, if that were the case the entire photo would show similar errors and faults. You can easily see that the rest of the picture is crystal clear quality, not even one black "smudge" anywhere but the middle. Also, some people say this could be black spray paint along the stairs case. This is absurd really, it wouldn't come out looking like this, you would see the dips of the staircase and indents of the paint following the contours of the steps. This is `00% legitimate proof of a shadow figure. Congrats Glenn!

The Brown Palace Ectoplasm

Robert Brown’s wife and daughter were watching a Travel Channel special on haunted places in the US. The Brown Palace Hotel was one of the places that was documented on the program. They were going to Denver in June and his wife suggested that they check this place out. Well, Robert Brown being skeptical and all said jokingly if they found the place maybe they could get a picture of an orb or something.
When They arrived in Denver on June 19, 2005 he picked up a rental car and asked where this Hotel was and they said pointing down the street at some flags that that was it. Now he was committed to going. he took 3 pictures outside and 12 pictures inside.
When taking the pictures he did not observe anything unusual. they got home on June 22 and before going to bed he downloaded all my pictures from his camera. he use a Kodak Easy Share CX6445 camera. They then viewed the pictures and to our amazement they saw this in the picture. He has no clue as to what this is. The ships in the window behind the object are not distorted and he does not believe it to be a reflection. The object goes beyond the window into the molding area at the bottom. The only conclusion he can come up with is that it is a GHOST!!! He now is a believer!

I have actually seen Robert's photo on another site. This seems to have no editing done to it and what I like most about this photo is the morphing of the shape, which makes it unique. Some of these free floating ectoplasm photos you find on the internet are clearly explainable by smudges on the lens or trails of smoke etc. but this is completely on it's own. you would be able to see a trail if it was from someone's smoking or any type of steam from sewers or whatever the case may be, but this entity is clearly forming of its own accord and it is very unexplainable. Supernatural indeed. Great photo Robert! Thanks for submitting!

Orbs in Boston

During a leisure trip to Boston, Massachusetts, I was snapping photos of every historic building and some interesting places along the way. I came across a cemetery that I wanted to snap a photo of and after the film developed I encountered some interesting orbs hovering above the graves.

I'm not to fond of pictures of orbs because most of them can be debunked by dust  or bugs. However, in Lacy's photo, there are several, some smaller some larger, and they are perfectly round and very pronounced. I certainly do not think that these are mere dust particles or bugs. There's a chance it could be more from the glare of the lights outside there, yet they are on an angle so chances are slim. This may very well be a partial manifestation or energy of the spirits that dwell in this location. Good find Lacy!

Ghost In the Graveyard..

Weeks ago, my girlfriend and I were wandering throughout a private cemetery near our home in a suburb of Chicago, and I began to do an EVP session and take photographs with my Iphone camera. For those of you who do not know what an EVP is, it is an Electronic Voice Phenomenon. Ghosts are said to be able to speak through the white noise and can be recorded in a digital recorder. Many paranormal investigators have had great success with EVPs. Also, I'm quite aware that the Iphone has poor quality, but this was just sort of a spontaneous thing and I did not have my full equipment with me. Sue me.

Anyways, after we made our peace and went back to the car and began cycling through the photos just in case anything turned up. I was absolutely shocked to see this chilling image..

To the right of the photo, you can make out the figure of a woman with her arms folded and head bowed. She seems to be praying. Yes, I realize you may be thinking, "This is just a statue," however, there were no statues at this private cemetery. Only tombstones and a few pillars. This figure is clearly shaped like a human being. Furthermore, you can start to see towards the bottom that the figure fades as you can even see the background where the snow meets the forest horizon.

Here is a zoomed in version of the photo. Again, I apologize for the quality but all I was using was an Iphone camera. Take it for what it's worth, thoughts?

The Ghost District

The Ghost District is a blog dedicated to the true paranormal. My name is Josh Green, and I'm a believer. But not without proof. That is why I've created this blog, in hopes of raising awareness of the afterlife through real photographs, real EVP's, real videos, all submitted by YOU. TGD is the first blog to offer this level of partnership with its readers. The more you submit paranormal sightings or other phenomena, the more you benefit from this site. I strongly encourage you to participate, whether you have had a paranormal experience or not. Submit a photo, a video, a recording, or even a story. If I deem it credible, I will post it here on the blog to be shared with the world and hopefully it will change someone's mind about spirits in our world.

So, if you would like to submit any evidence of the paranormal, please send it to drgreenmusic@aim.com and please comment on any articles you find interesting. Decide for yourself if it is really paranormal, or a clever hoax.

Happy hunting!

Yours truly,
Joshua Green
